Due to Sam’s current and ongoing responsibilities at The Back Room (of which he is the owner/creator) his performances are pretty much limited to that stage, and even there, are only occasional.

(By the way, even when he is not on the bill, he often gets a chance to sit in — so if you are nearby Berkeley, CA, you should certainly stop by — you might catch him.)

New Year's Eve With High Country

For over 20 years, High Country, the oldest and best traditional Bluegrass in the (Bay Area? state of CA? entire world?) has been ringing in the New Year in Berkeley. Most of that was at the Freight & Salvage, but when the Freight let them go, the Back Room was there to pick up that baton.

There will be 2 full hours of music from this great band, and there will also be a special guest set from Sam Rudin, who will be contributing some of his trademark "bluegrass piano."
